Diamond grinding paste · W1.5 example

Grinding paste, built around the process.

W1.5 oil-soluble is the example configuration shown here. It is a starting point for the conversation, not a fixed stock item: the working grade, carrier and consistency are confirmed against your process and the partner factory’s current datasheet.

01 / At a glance

One configuration, written down.

A concrete starting point: one grade, one carrier and one use category to react to. The detail is confirmed at quotation.

W1.5 oil-soluble gives the quotation a concrete starting point: a grade, a carrier and a use category to test against. It is easier to react to a defined configuration than to a range.

The final configuration is set by your operation. The partner factory’s current datasheet, not this page, is the reference for the grade and tolerance that will actually be supplied.

02 / Carrier choice

Oil or water is a process decision.

The carrier changes how the paste behaves at the machine and how the part is cleaned afterwards. Neither option is universally better.

Oil-soluble

A prepared paste in an oil-based carrier. Often considered where the process already runs oil-based fluids and the cleaning routine can handle an oil residue.

  • Choose when the machine, workholding and cleaning steps are oil-compatible.
  • Ask for current carrier options before locking the specification.
  • Evaluate with a sample where the process is new to you.

Example: the W1.5 oil-soluble configuration shown on this page.

Water-soluble

A paste built around a water-soluble carrier. Often considered where water-based fluids are already in use and the cleaning routine favours water.

  • Choose when downstream cleaning and waste handling are water-based.
  • Confirm compatibility with the machine and parts before ordering.
  • Evaluate with a sample where the process is new to you.

Example carrier option; availability and behaviour confirmed with the partner factory.

02 Carrier availability and compatibility are confirmed per order. Neither carrier is presented as a universal recommendation.

03 / Grade series

An illustrative grade set.

A working ladder from finer to coarser. The designations show where a conversation might start, not what is guaranteed to be in stock.

W0.5Finest · finishing

Final finishing steps where surface quality leads the decision.

W1Very fine

Polishing and fine lapping where the finish target is the constraint.

ExampleW1.5Example configuration

The starting point used on this page. Confirmed against your process.

W3Fine

Finishing and polishing where some removal still matters.

W6Medium

Intermediate steps before the final finishing stage.

W10Coarser

Heavier removal or lapping support before finer grades.

03 Illustrative grade set. Current availability and tolerances are confirmed at quotation against the selected partner factory’s current datasheet. W1.5 oil-soluble is an example configuration, not a stock promise.

04 / Where it is used

Matched to the material and the step.

These are the questions we ask before proposing a configuration.

Substrate 01

Carbide tooling

Edge preparation and finishing on carbide inserts, drills and end mills. Grade is matched to the edge condition, and carrier to your cleaning routine.

Read the carbide route →

Substrate 02

Precision components

Lapping and polishing of steel and other precision parts where flatness, finish and repeatability are measured.

Substrate 03

Ceramics, glass and other materials

Hard, brittle substrates where removal and surface damage shift with the step. Carrier compatibility is checked first.

04 Application notes are general process guidance, not performance claims.

Every field has a source.

The table separates an illustrative starting point from information that must be confirmed for the order.

06 / Before dispatch

What we confirm before dispatch.

Each item is agreed in writing; none of it is a certification claim.

✓

Grade & tolerance

Confirmed against the partner factory’s current datasheet and stated on the quotation.

✓

Carrier & consistency

Oil or water base and paste consistency agreed for your machine and process.

✓

Packaging & labelling

Container, label content and shipping marks specified per order and destination.

✓

Batch documentation

The document set is coordinated with the manufacturing partner before dispatch.

✓

Dispatch details

Destination, paperwork and any third-party inspection coordination agreed before shipment.

✓

Sample record

If you evaluate a sample, its configuration is written into the order record.

06 Coordination checklist only. Xintai does not operate a manufacturing site or laboratory and does not issue its own test certificates.

07 / Customisation

Test before you commit.

A sample evaluation, a non-standard carrier or a specific packaging format can be coordinated.

01

Sample coordination

A sample can be coordinated through the partner factory so the configuration can be tested on your process before a full order. Availability and any charge are confirmed first.

02

Custom formulation route

Describe the gap: carrier, consistency, finish target or handling. We take the requirement to the partner factory and come back with what is possible.

03

Packaging & labelling

Packaging is specified per order and destination, including buyer labels, inner packaging and shipping marks where required.

Next step

Put the paste on the file.

Tell us the operation, material and finish target. We will come back with a configuration and the documents the partner factory can provide.
